Preparation of the ingredients

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes

Drain and rinse black beans 

Preparing the soup

1.  Heat the olive oil and add diced onions and garlic. Dry heat for about 3 minutes or until onions are aromatic.

2.  Add cumin and smoked paprika and stir for about 1 minute.

3.  Pour in vegetable broth and add diced potatoes. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 15 minutes.

4.  Add black beans to the pot and simmer for another 5-10 minutes.

5.  Blend the soup until it is smooth.

6.  Top with salt and pepper and stir in the lime juice.
